about

MISM Records:
Styptic and F Metal have composed a soundtrack of a dystopian, not all too far away future.

Anonymous Reviewer:
The Anachronist's album presents an intriguing fusion of synthetic and acousmatic sounds, offering captivating surprises and unique sonorities to the standard electronic music listener. Throughout the album, the artist successfully maintains a delicate balance between the abstract avant-garde electronic compositions and the comforting repetition and predictability of commercial dancefloor techno. This balance is achieved through a skillful use of straightforward 4/4 beats and more intricate grooves. While occasional hints of the tonal system can be found, there is no secure harmonic anchor in any of the tracks.

The overall impression of this album is that it stands out from the majority of experimental electronic music, reflecting a refined taste in timbre and a particular attention to the interplay of sounds. However, the decision to arrange these sounds in straightforward musical forms and structures may not fully showcase the quality of the individual sounds themselves. In the end, listening to this album leaves you with a sense of holding precious gems in your hands, evoking a feeling of satisfaction and curiosity to delve further into The Anachronist's musical world.

From the album cover:
The Anachronist trudges through the snowy deserts of the nuclear winter, descends into the underworld of the catacombs and illuminates with his headlamp dark corners that haven't been seen by anyone for decades. the aesthetics of deserted city ruins prevail, slowly reclaimed by rampant botanics. the Anachronist is and end-time witness, gazing unblinkingly at the multicolored scorched earth and polluted rivers, which draw him into a spell of blooming decay. in this mixture of overwhelming fear and the beauty of silent destruction the Anachronist registers strange rites and newly formed religions among the remaining ones. in their turning to a callous colossus, he glimpses in their eyes a hope shaped by pain. those doomed by ruin cling longingly to the old world. they lack the strength to let go. they lack the understanding of the inherent romance of the moment.

about
